Welcome to the LSU Student Health Center! We are a clinic that provides medical care and preventive services for all University of Louisiana at Lafayette students, faculty, staff, dependents of employees, and other members of the University community. Our goal is to provide exceptional service from our professional team with quality health care in a safe environment.

Our providers offer complete health assessments; immunizations; gynecological exams; STD testing and treatment; family planning counseling and services; lead screening for children ages 6 months through 7 years old who live or attend school in East Baton Rouge Parish/Jefferson Davis Parish/West Feliciana Parish/Tangipahoa Parish (including Zachary); depression screenings for adults age 18 and older; screenings for gestational diabetes, miscarriage risk assessment and high-risk pregnancy assessments.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is committed to reducing health disparities by ensuring that all students have access to quality education about sexual violence prevention, alcohol/drug abuse prevention, mental illness awareness and suicide prevention. We provide training sessions geared towards empowering people with disabilities in order to help them live independent lives. The goal is not only to be aware of your own wellness but also someone else’s as well.

LSU Student Health Center, located in LSU’s University Medical School Building on the corner of Nicholson Drive and Highland Road. The LSU Student Health Center is a joint venture between LSU and Tulane with funding from both institutions. This facility provides medical care for students at clinics managed by each university as well as emergency services functions shared jointly by the two schools’ staffs, including physician coverage for sports injuries during games or other events involving one school against another. Additionally, this partnership provides wellness programs to support academic performance like mental hygiene groups that offer assistance with stress management, anxiety level assessment tools such as STAI (State Trait Anxiety Inventory), peer counseling telephone lines staffed 24 /hrs a day, and suicide prevention counseling.
