PayPal Payment Review Notifications to Become Instant in Early 2009

Posted on August 13, 2008. Filed under: Paypal, eBay | Tags: , , , , |

PayPal has announced some enhancements to the Payment Review feature.  The PayPal Payment Review feature is designed to identify high-risk transactions and notify merchants of the review so they can hold shipments until PayPal has evaluated the transaction risk.  At this time, PayPal notifies merchants of the review via email, as well as showing the transaction status within the user’s PayPal account.

The Payment Review decision and notification is most often applied instantly but is sometimes applied minutes later.  By early 2009, PayPal plans to instantly apply all Payment Reviews so that sellers do not receive conflicting information first telling them to ship and then a few minutes later telling them to wait for the review to be completed.

A few minutes- how about a couple weeks later LOL

Smells more like an attempt on Ebay’s part to earn interest on the money due to sellers.
